If I wanted the man page, I would have asked for it

Yesterday, while playing with a tool that shall remain unnamed, I needed some more details on its command line options. Out of habit, I ran tool --help, to which it politely replied see 'man tool' for instructions. Turduckalope ! What a tool !
To prove a sense of humor, the man page then directed me to run tool --help — actually, I made that last bit up.
Is there a CLI interface hall of shame ?
